SMILIE GAMES CONTENT CHOSEN FOR BT MULTIPHONES

BT INTERNET KIOSK

Smilie are very proud to have a selection of the Java games chosen for prominent display on the latest BT 'Internet Kiosks', the MultiPhone. The updated technology willed be rolled out to high visibility sites throughout the UK, all of which will feature buttons to Smilie's games content as the primary destination for games entertainment.

After an initial rollout of around 3000 MultiPhones over the next 6 months, BT estimate a further 9000 will be rolled out in the following year or so. The phones will be placed in areas of high visibility, such as Kings Cross station, as well as locations where people have significant spare or 'waiting' time, such as hotel foyers and airports.

Under the partnership agreement with BT, Smilie have designed and created a 'walled garden' type site exclusively for the BT clientele. Users of the BT phones will see this Smilie game site, together with location dependent promotional adverts, inviting them to play games. The site itself had to be designed in a very simple way to enable users to navigate and then play the games with the two types of 'trackball' installed.

The key benefit to Smilie is that our branding will be prominent in all the games and the web interface. This, together with BT taking responsibility to drive traffic and increase user hits, will be very useful in extending the reach and expanding the social groups to which the Smilie brand is exposed.
